How to Increase Your Company’s Revenue or Gross Income – Part 21
Welcome to LeadEtics® Consults Actionable Business Advice Series.
In our last post, we discuss the relative importance of management and organizing or administration.
No organization can dare function well in the absence of one or the other and achieve its business goals.
To have effective management or executive that gets things done, the organization needs as much effective organizing or administration to obtain, organize, motivate, and prepare the necessities required to get the vital things of the organization done.
Theefore, management without organizing or administration, or administration or organizing without management, is a recipe for failure, or at best remaining small.
In this post, we present those aspects of an organization that require attention and administration for the organization to thrive.
Knowing the standard technology or know-how
Knowing the standard technology or know-how of the parts of the organization is key to create and have an expanding, productive, and prosperous business.
Let us dive into this post main gist. The three (3) of the twenty-nine (29) essential parts of an organization.
The components of an organization (first three)
The parts of any organization are as follows:
1. The Organizing or Corporate Structure Board or Structure is that graph that shows arrangements and relationships of the functions, purposes, and valuable byproducts of all the posts to be manned in the organization in a hierarchical free flowing manner. It is designed with the aim of attaining the long-term vision of the organization.
Put up your organizing board or corporate structure to identify and present the relative position and hierarchy of all the posts that will produce and deliver your company products or services promised to your customers or client, and the tool to attain your corporate vision.
An attendant part of the organizing board or corporate structure is the job description or post function of all the post identified on the board. Without this, its working in the dark all the way through to diverse and intractable problems.
2. Personnel Hats consisting of packs or files that contain all the contents of the technology, processes, procedures, policies, etc. personnel need to have, study, know, perform, and deliver upon to effectively and efficiently deliver the products of their posts.
The personnel hats are the training and reference materials that each staff uses to orient themselves with their posts, the company, and other aspects of the business or organization.
Then set up the personnel hat for each post identified on the corporate structure or organizing board. What are the knowledge, knowhow, policies, procedure, etc. that each staff need to have to effectively do their job? Get then together in a pack for each staff. This will be the pack for training the staff, and the reference material with which a staff refreshes their mind as to what and how to do what.
Without this, you staff turnover will be great. You will complain of having poor, incompetent, and bad people as employee. You will blame the education system for churning out useless graduates, but you will not have competent workforce. To have a competent workforce, produce the personnel hat pack and hat your staff.
3. Communication Lines is shown in the organizing or corporate structure. It is the lines upon which personnel, raw materials/inputs, clients or customers, etc. are put through to get from one post to another in the process of producing, finalizing, and exiting the valuable final product or service of the organization to its internal and external consumers.
Without a communication line, such as an analogue telephone or fiber cable, no communication can happen in our fast-paced world of modern technology. The organization communication line is as vital as this, if not more so, because it is what creates everything we see and depend.
Finally, develop your organization communication lines. These are shown on the corporate structure or organizing board. But you need to being them to life in the actual operation of the business. Where does a customer who want to buy your product or service go from the reception? Where does the new computer being delivered go? Etc. Work all these out, drill your staff, and monitor their adherence to the communication lines. And you will be amazed at the heightened level of productivity your company will achieve.
Conclusion
In conclusion, for this week, it is important that we establish the above three parts of our business or organization, if we have not already done so.
The lack of these parts is a lack that will retard the progress of our endeavors.
